Here's your first day with PunchOutPayroll, from signing up to your first employee on the clock. Name your business, and your company is ready.

Prefer to talk it through? Answer three questions, out loud or by typing: what kind of business you run, who works for you, and how often you pay.

It reads back what it heard, and nothing changes until you confirm. Your crew's names go straight into Add employees.

A setup checklist shows what's left. Add a sick time policy from a template, then confirm your pay schedule and leave defaults.

Check the names, add each person's email, and confirm.

Then invite them. Each person gets a link and a joining code. There's no app store, and nothing to install.

On her phone, Maya opens the link and joins Corner Coffee. One tap, and she's punched in, with a receipt for the exact time.

Back on your overview, she's on the clock. Your crew is set up, and payroll-ready hours start today.

Adding your crew takes one list. Type the names, paste them from a spreadsheet, or bring them over from the setup walkthrough, and add an email for each person.

Nothing is saved until you review the exact list and confirm.

Then invite each person. They get a link by email, plus a joining code you can share any way you like.

They open it on their phone and join your company with one tap, ready to punch in. No app store, and no download.

Talk it through or type

The app asks short questions about your business and your crew. It can read each question aloud, and in browsers that support it, you can answer by speaking. Typing works everywhere. Speech is handled by your browser, and no audio is sent to PunchOutPayroll.

Starting rules for your business type

Pick restaurant, retail, construction, cleaning, healthcare, salon, warehouse or office, and get suggested work rules like when to flag a missing clock-out. You see every value and can change any of them.

You confirm every change

Setup answers fill in drafts. Names go into the add-employees list, and rule changes are shown back to you before anything is saved.

Invite your crew by email

Send each employee an email invitation to set up their own sign-in. Resend or revoke an invitation from their row.

A checklist that shows what’s left

The owner dashboard tracks setup, from work rules and time-off policies to invitations and the first clock-in.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set up PunchOutPayroll by voice?

Yes. The guided setup can read questions aloud, and in browsers that support speech input you can answer by speaking. You can always type instead.

Does PunchOutPayroll get my audio?

No. Speech-to-text is done by your browser, and some browsers use their maker’s online speech service for it. PunchOutPayroll only gets the text. You can always type instead.

What business types have starting rules?

Restaurant, café or bar; retail; construction or trades; cleaning or home services; clinic, home care or healthcare; salon, spa or studio; warehouse, manufacturing or delivery; and office or professional services.

Do presets change my overtime rules?

No. Presets suggest rules like when to flag a missing clock-out. Overtime thresholds, pay schedules and automatic break deductions are set by you.

How are employees invited?

By email. Each person gets an invitation to set up their own sign-in, and you can resend or revoke it.
